Carbon. Smart?
People
Yesterday I dragged my cynical backside to the latest regional meeting of the So- Go- Eco programme.
Working with partners Carbon Smart, ergomonkey are now committed to achieving a reduction in our carbon footprint of 20% by December 2011 (from its current level of 40.09 tonnes CO2e to 32.07 CO2e).
I must confess that this is my first involvement in the programme, and its not though coincidence but deliberate avoidance!
My own personal views on the global warming issue seem to be at odds with the common consensus; that there is no proven correllation between historical levels of CO2 in the atmosphere and average temperature. Therefore, no proof exists that human activity is causing global warming. However, to voice this opinion in todays political climate is akin to declaring oneself a big fan of Jim Davidson stand- up. The whole debate has a surreal air of 'Emperors new Clothes' to it, with the Eco- Police shouting- down or riduculing anyone that dares to question their 'evil western consumerism' mantra, and global warming hypothesis (note hypothesis; and not a theory).
And so I went to the meeting in the fair city of Sheffield with hackles already raised, ready to defend my views against an onslaught of home- spun rhetoric and philosophy from hessian clad eco- warriors intent on squashing me under my own carbon footprint.
How wrong I was! The guys from Carbon Smart were suit- wearing, business- savvy, and totally pragmatic. Far from indoctrination, their message was simply that regardless of your beliefs as to the causes of global warming, it is here, its now, its serious, and it will have an effect on your business.
Carbon Smarts' focus is to help businesses to build their own positive environmental message, with practical advice on identifying those areas and activities where energy usage and rescources (and resultant carbon output) can be better managed.
With the current economic climate being so difficult, few organisations can afford unecessary cost. If you can reduce your energy bills, and reduce your carbon footprint as a consequence, everybody wins.
Now, how do I reduce those outrageous methane emissions from my colleagues...

To start earning money with your blog, initially use Google Adsense but gradually as your traffic increases, keep adding more and more money making programs to your site.

I don’t usually reply to posts but I will in this case. I’ve been experiencing this very same problem with a new WordPress installation of mine. I’ve spent weeks calibrating and getting it ready when all of a sudden… I cannot delete any content. It’s a workaround that, although isn’t perfect, does the trick so thanks! I really hope this problem gets solved properly asap.

Great looking site! Maybe you should use ads from Prosperent network. They pay based on sales not a clicks!!! That means way better money than adsense or any PPC:) If you are interested send me an email. I will send you invitation code. Cheers.

Great headline. If your cookie has a bite-sized action and your reader completes the action, I think two things happen. Their self-confidence goes up (which feels good) and their trust in you increases.
